Artist Statement
My work is about survival and self-preservation, rooted in my transition from fashion design to fine art. I use organza as a material language to map the "chilly-hot" memories that stay in my mind. By using heat to fix the shape of this thin, transparent fabric, I explore the tension between being fragile and being strong.
This work is an act of release. I translate vivid, stinging memories into large installation art. While my palette is anchored in red and hot tones, my work is a broader exploration of the architecture of memory moving through the intensity of the past toward a more luminous future. I am interested in the moment when fabric becomes stable; it is a physical way for me to find order within beautiful, terrible experiences and make room for a brighter future.
